Mantinance Program
PRUNING
SERVICES - pruning needs to be done for many reasons including;
the encouragement of flower and fruit production, to control growth,
to maintain proper form, and to remove damaged limbs. A knowledge
of each plant is necessary in order to avoid improper pruning which
can result in the accidental removal of flower buds etc. Proper
pruning will improve the health and therefore the beauty of the
plant. Pruning can be done weekly, bi-weekly, or on a one-time basis
depending on your specific needs.
PLANT
FERTILIZING - scheduled fertilizing is a necessary part
of maintaining a plants health, because it replaces the nutrients
a plant consumes from the soil. Fertilizing helps to increase flower
and fruit growth, it promotes a vibrant color, it stimulates root
formation, and increases disease resistance. Give us a call and
we’ll recommend a fertilizing schedule that is right for you,
based on the type of plants found in your landscape.
SEASONAL
COLOR - let us bring in some vibrant seasonal color to
accent the true summer beauty of your home. Annual flowers like
Impatiens, Begonias, Petunias, will look great in almost any location.
WEEDING
- weeding is recommended not only to maintain the beauty of your
landscape. Weeds can compete with landscape plants for soil nutrients
and water.
MULCHING - a healthy layer of mulch
should be maintained in your landscape beds, and this is necessary
not only to keep things looking good. Mulch prevents much-needed
moisture from escaping from the soil during hot summer days, and
it also insulates the root system from cold during the winter months.
SPRINKLER
SYSTEM MONITORING - instead of using the same settings
throughout the year, your sprinkler system timer should be adjusted
with significant changes in weather, and with the seasons This will
prevent drought conditions during unusual dry spells, and prevent
the overuse of water during periods of rain. Professional Landscaping
can make visits to your home on an as-needed basis to make any necessary
adjustments or repairs to your system. The more efficiently your
system operates, the more money you will save on your water or electric
bill.
PLANT
WINTERIZING - many landscape plants can be damaged from
the effects of winter, such as the weight of accumulating snow,
ice damage, salt damage, and wind damage. Plants are winterized
by either wrapping with burlap, tying, or by using protective covers.
Evergreen plants are most susceptible to winter damage.
