Graduation Tea Party on 6th April 2025
The Graduation Tea Party (GTP) 2025, a signature farewell event for the graduating class, was successfully organized by the Alumni & External Relations (AER) Section in collaboration with SAIL. Over 1600+ graduating students attended the celebration, dressed in formal attire and eagerly queuing up to collect their commemorative ties.
The event commenced with a warm welcome by Prof. Sumana Dutta, Dean of AER, who highlighted the significant role of alumni in shaping the institute’s legacy and formally introduced the graduates to the IITG Alumni Association (IITGAA). Prof. K. V. Krishna, Dean of Academic Courses, encouraged students to strive for excellence and reminded them of their responsibilities as future alumni and citizens.
Prof. A. Perumal, Dean of Students’ Affairs, took the audience down memory lane, reflecting on the students’ holistic growth beyond the classroom since their first day at IITG. Ms. Urmi Gopalakrishna, the outgoing General Secretary of SAIL, presented a comprehensive report on SAIL’s initiatives, including the Silver Jubilee Meet, Alumni Conclave, placement talks, and mentorship programs.
Adding a personal touch, four students from the graduating batch shared heartfelt reflections on their journey at IIT Guwahati. Prof. Devendra Jalihal, Director of the 探花视频, delivered an inspiring address, drawing wisdom from the Taittiriya Upanishad to underscore the graduates' responsibilities as both human beings and alumni.
Prof. Deepak Sharma, Associate Dean of AER, concluded the formal program with a vote of thanks. The event then transitioned into the highly anticipated group photo session with the Director, deans, faculty, and fellow graduates—first with postgraduate and PhD students, followed by undergraduates.
The afternoon radiated a festive spirit as students captured memories with peers and professors, celebrating with tea and refreshments, and marking the beginning of their new chapter as proud alumni of IIT Guwahati.
